Who we are

This website (foodisthesymptom.com, also reached at cb-nutrition.com) is run by Charlie Beestone, trading as CB Nutrition through CGB Nutrition Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: info@cb-nutrition.com.

What we collect on this website

• Emails you send us. If you contact us, we keep your name, email address and message so we can reply.
• Anonymous usage data. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies and does not identify you personally.
• Newsletter sign-ups. If you subscribe on this site, your email address is stored by Kit, our email provider, and you confirm by email before anything is sent. Subscriptions on Substack follow Substack's own privacy policy.

Connected apps (including Pinterest)

CB Nutrition runs a private, internal app that connects to Pinterest through the Pinterest API. It is used only by CB Nutrition, on its own Pinterest account. It is not offered to the public and no other user can sign in to it.

With the account owner's permission (granted through Pinterest's OAuth sign-in), the app reads the owner's own boards and Pins - titles, descriptions, links and image URLs. This data is used only to organise the owner's saved references into a private reference library for planning content. We do not collect data about other Pinterest users, we do not sell or share Pinterest data with anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.

Pinterest data is stored on our own computers only as long as it is useful for this purpose. Access can be withdrawn at any time by removing the app in Pinterest's account settings, after which we delete the stored data.

How we use data and why

We use personal data to reply to you, to send the newsletter you asked for, and to run this site. Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are your consent and our legitimate interest in running the business. We never sell personal data.

How long we keep it

We keep emails for as long as the conversation is relevant, and no longer than needed for tax and legal records. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or move your personal data, or object to how we use it. Email info@cb-nutrition.com. If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

We will update this page if anything changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
